Selling Furniture & Mattresses: How To Be Memorable!

In a previous article at http://peteprimeau.com/sell-this-not-that-in-furniture-mattress-stores/ I mentioned that the salesperson was the most unique differentiator. The salesperson can also be the most powerful differentiator. You do not have to dye your hair purple to be memorable! An attempt to just be different for its own sake will not benefit your sales career. Here are ideas on how to be memorable.

Focus- Focus on your customer more than your competitors do. Top salespeople passionately focus on their customer’s needs and wants. They understand why the customer is in the store and they have a firm grasp on their customer’s desired outcomes. The law of reciprocity dictates that the customer who feels that the salesperson is focused on them will reciprocate by focusing on the salesperson.

Be Yourself- There is only one you. You need to let your personality shine through. Discovering common interests between you and your customer is a great way to establish rapport. Once rapport is established it becomes infinitely easier to successfully complete the sale.

Have Fun- One of the differences that I have observed over the years, is that the best salespeople have fun. They find enjoyment in their work. The enthusiasm that they exude attracts the customer to them. When you are in the proper place mentally to sell, this natural energy will propel you to success.

Serve- If you want to be memorable, out serve your competition! Press here for ideas on giving your customer great service.

Wishing You Success!
